After a career working with schools and children’s services, I trained as an art psychotherapist to combine my passion for art-making with supporting peoples’ mental health.
My clinical experiences in several NHS services have included Adult as well as Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services. I currently combine NHS work with private practice, seeing young people and adults on a private or commissioned basis.
People who find it difficult to explain their distress in words can find great value in playing and experimenting with art materials as a way of communicating and exploring thoughts and feelings. Art Therapy provides a very natural and non-threatening way to build a relationship with clients.
I’m interested in helping clients (young or adult) to address trauma stored in the body, through the use of sensory materials.
